Some symptoms of having “good child syndrome” are: trying extremely hard to be good enough in the eyes of their parents, suppressing emotions, anxiety and/or stress, afraid of taking risks, may be a “perfectionist,” having low self esteem, feeling unaccepted, feeling like they can’t be themselves, and more.Īlthough gifted kid burnout and good child syndrome can affect people’s adult lives, with therapy or medication, the effects can be minimal. They do this in fear of being disliked by adults. Children with this issue often do not share their opinions or say what they want to do. Kids designated as gifted have long been thought to be more at risk of emotional issues, and to carry some of them into adult life, because of. They can become quiet, prioritize getting academic validation, or not show their real feelings. This is an interesting one, and its disputed. This will often cause a child to push their feelings down. Good child syndrome is caused when a child is shown that their “bad sides,” such as being needy or stubborn, are met with anger or frustration. It sort of feels like I’m wading through thissoul-sucking fog, one that’s left me disconnected, achy, irritable, et cetera et cetera. Actually, I’m having a hard time doing a lot of things. I’ll be honest with you: I’m having a very hard time putting words together these days. “Good child syndrome” can have similar effects of gifted kid burnout, but it has some major differences. A Former Gifted Kid’s Reflections on Burnout. Some symptoms might include: feeling cynical towards work/teachers/peers/parents/the whole school experience, disengagement from favorite things or interests, feeling a sense of dread each day going to school/clubs/other activities, more frequent panic or anxiety attacks, change in sleeping or eating habits, feeling overwhelmed by small setbacks, withdrawing from friends or family, or being unmotivated to complete chores, assignments, and other social obligations. As they grow up, the events and situations in a child’s life can influence their personality and mental health. The FBI recounted the incident in a press release where it emphasized the participation of the San Juan field office. The HRT had recently received commando training in Iraq. On September 23, 2005, Ojeda Ríos was surrounded in his home in the outskirts of the town of Hormigueros, Puerto Rico by the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) and fatally shot. Death View of the front of the house, as it would have appeared to the FBI agents when they approached In July 1992, Ojeda Ríos was sentenced in absentia to 55 years in prison and fined $600,000 for his role in the Wells Fargo heist. On September 23, 1990, the anniversary of the Grito de Lares, Ojeda Ríos cut off the electronic tag that had been placed on his ankle as a condition of his release, and became a fugitive. In 1989, a jury of 12 found Ojeda Ríos “innocent of all charges filed against him for shooting at FBI agents during his 1985 arrest.” He was released on bond after his attorneys successfully argued he had been denied a speedy trial, although the delay in bringing him to trial was largely the result of defense motions. On September 12, 1983, Los Macheteros stole approximately US$7 million from a Wells Fargo depot in West Hartford, Connecticut. The group was responsible for nearly 120 bombings in the United States between 19, including the 1975 bombing of the Fraunces Tavern in which four civilians were killed. The group was involved in the killing of a Puerto Rican policeman who refused to surrender his car. In the 1960s, he founded the Armed Revolutionary Independence Movement, aka MIRA ( Movimiento Independentista Revolucionario Armado). He joined La Sonora Ponceña, a salsa band from Ponce, Puerto Rico where he performed both instruments. As a child, he played the trumpet and guitar. Ojeda Ríos entered college when he was fifteen years old and was described as having an "engaging intelligence". Ojeda Ríos was born on April 26, 1933, in the barrio of Río Blanco in Naguabo, Puerto Rico to Inocencio Ojeda. The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Civil Rights Commission subsequently conducted its own investigation of the incident and issued a report on 22 September 2011 wherein the Commission called Ojeda Ríos's death an "illegal killing". The resulting report concluded that "the FBI agents’ use of force in the Ojeda operation did not violate the Department of Justice Deadly Force Policy" and that Ojeda Ríos had initiated the exchange of gunfire. In response to questions raised in media accounts and by public officials in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, FBI director Robert Mueller requested an investigation by the United States Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General. The killing of Ojeda Ríos resonated throughout the Puerto Rican community around the world. The FBI operation in Hormigueros was questioned by local Puerto Rican authorities as well as international organizations. That is a great weakness, and even if their Servant had the greatest Noble Phantasm, they would still lose to someone with that drive. They are neither someone who fights out of obligation like a soldier, or even someone strong-willed who always fights with their eyes on the prize in front of them. That makes for a large handicap without the drive to win. The Grail is won by individual motivation, but they lack the core of motivation to claim it. Their resolve to fight is lacking because they don't know what they wish to accomplish. The Protagonist is initially lost over as to what they should be doing in the Holy Grail War. As an NPC rather than a human, the protagonist cannot enter the Moon Cell without being deleted as invalid data, like Pieceman - however, the Moon Cell requires more time to process the contradiction caused by the existence of the frozen body in the real world, and so he/she is not instantly deleted and has enough time to make a wish. Believing him/herself to be a normal human, the protagonist unknowingly took over the position of another participant who had died in the preliminary selection for the war. Unlike Pieceman, he/she did not regain any memory of a "previous life" due to the fact that the original was an amnesiac to begin with. After entering the Moon Cell, the protagonist sends Rin/Rani this information, in the hopes that she will be able to find and help his/her other self.Īfter being created in SERAPH as an NPC, the protagonist, like Pieceman, somehow gained self-awareness. Because of the world's technological stagnation, no progress was made, and he/she remained in this state for 30 years. Pieceman.) A doctor who could potentially cure the disease was found, but died in a terrorist attack before an operation could be performed. The protagonist's "other self" in the year 2000 was a patient with a brain disease that caused memory loss and would eventually lead to death. In reality, the protagonist is not a human participant of the Grail War, but an NPC created by the Moon Cell, based off an existing person. The Female Protagonist wears a dark navy sailor school uniform with a red scarf, a pleated skirt, black knee socks, and brown shoes. The Male Protagonist wears a black gakuran style uniform, with a high collared coat with gold buttons, black trousers, and brown shoes. The Male Protagonist has brown hair and eyes and wears standard male school uniform of Tsukumihara Academy, and wears a black t-shirt beneath his jacket. I started writing this guide on sunday, and had found two legendaries at that point in this area. I'm adding this small section now that I've concluded that it isn't just a fluke: farming the lava phase beast on NG+++ with magic find nets you at least one legendary per two inventories. If you just slap on whatever you find that looks good, chances are you'll get through most of the content without a hitch. Running up to the Emberweave set, you could opt to cobble together a viable variation of the Wildwood set. You can have all that stuff in three or four lazy evenings. If you think this sounds prohibitively expensive, then know that both getting the skulls and the set is a trivial exercise if you follow this guide to the letter. I also use some Chaos embers with movement speed. Combine the HP with 75% block and nothing will kill you on NG+++ normal. This might have to do that I have socketed most of it with Riechliu skulls (they give 1540 hp), netting me a total hp of 21,000. Incidentally, even though Emberweave's a lvl 70 set it will carry you to lvl 100 effortlessly, as well as through all battles in Tarroch's Tomb. I do not go into detail about the general gear because you can ultimately use whatever you like since you a) wont use it during the farming itself and b) it doesn't have to get you through the endgame content so it doesn't need too much thought/tweaking. I use some unique belt I found and have put zero thought into. I use The Centerwing for the cast speed as well as a wand with cast speed. I use the Emberweave set, a lvl 70 unique set that you will be able to obtain in the course of your farming sessions. Writing this I realize this is the point of any ARPG gear ever, but keep in mind that Im talking about normal difficulty, so the bar is not set very high. For efficiency's sake, use something that doesn't get you killed but lets you mow down monsters at a good pace. The goal of the general gear is to get you through the non-farming areas. Sourdough baguettes, 73% hydration in baker's math. Since in baker’s math the total amount of flour is always assigned a value of 100%, the flour portion of this recipe would be written like so: All-purpose = 70%, whole wheat = 20%, rye = 10%. Additionally, sugar is not considered flour.)Īn example: If a bread recipe has 700 grams of all-purpose flour, 200 grams of whole wheat flour, and 100 grams of rye flour, the total flour weight of that recipe is 1,000 grams. (Rolled oats and other flaked products, including cracked grains like rye or corn grits, are generally not categorized as flour. Whether whole wheat, rye, all-purpose, " 00," or even gluten-free, each and every flour should be counted as part of the total flour amount. The basic answer is that any flour should be considered flour. In baker's math, which ingredients are considered "flour"? Plus (bonus!), after the questions we have a quiz where you can test your expertise. Keep reading to find yours (and if we don’t cover it, add it to the comments below and we’ll get on it). Here, we’re focusing on some of the questions that we hear on a regular basis. For a more in-depth guide, we also have our professional baker’s reference page. If you're new to the concept of baker's math and want a straightforward introduction that covers the basics, see our previous baker’s percentage blog post. Here's an example of a simple formula using baker's percentages: Ingredientīut as helpful as it is, baker’s math can also get confusing. Primarily used in bread-specific applications, baker’s math is indispensable for scaling recipes up or down for determining batch sizes based on the amount of any given ingredient (how many baguettes can I make with only 20 grams of yeast?) or simply for comparing different recipes. While ingredient amounts change with different batch sizes, the ratios - that is, the relationship between the flour, water, salt, yeast, and other ingredients - will always remain the same. It's a formula that uses the total weight of flour as its centerpiece: The total weight of flour is always treated as 100%, and all other ingredients are measured against that flour weight to convert the recipe into percentages. Baker’s math (aka baker’s percentages) is a numerical system used to identify ratios in bread recipes. I could find PC Ditto disks and run it without troubles on Hatari. Maybe that’s where this emulation madness came from ! I use to run DOS programs (including Turbo Pascal) thanks to PC Ditto, or even run MacOS thanks to Aladin. It was possible a the time to run a few emulators on ST’s. I could test various versions of TOS (1.04, 1.06, 1.62, …), EmuTOS, including MultiTOS / MiNT. Standard resolutions 640×400 (B&W), 640×200 (4 colors), 320×200 (16 colors) but also non standards resolution, up to 1024×768 with 16 colorsĪs an example the next screenshots show Populous running 320×200 16 colors:.Processors ranging for Motorola 68000 up to 68040, running from 8MHz to 32MHz, with ou without FPU.520/1040 STs, but also STEs, Mega ST/STEs, TTs or Falcons. It can of course emulate other configurations: It worked pretty well, though the mouse pointer was sometimes a bit dodgy. I set Hatari for a Motorola 68000 8 Mhz micro-processor, with 1024Kb of RAM, a 640×400 monochrome display and a ROM with TOS 1.04. I tend to configure emulators to be as close as possible as the computers I owned. The following screenshot shows Hatari running the french version of TOS 1.04, along with the GEM desktop: I looked around for Atari ST emulators, and the best I could find was Hatari (version 2.3.1). It was also time for my firsts printers, starting with a Citizen 120D, and a few years later, an HP Deskjet 500. This were also the times of my first tries with digital artwork. This was the era of DTP (Desktop Publishing), and I used software like “Publishing Partner”, “Calamus” or “Le Redacteur”. I had the monochrome 640×400 bitmap display, so it could run “professional” software (and, indeed, very few games). This is the machine on which I taught myself C, C++, 68000 assembly language, event-based programming, GUI programming, and wrote a lot of GFA Basic code. I have very very fond memories of it, and learned quite a bit with it ! So I opted for the “ Jackintosh” (which was sold for 6 times less, if memory serves) I still remember the price tag of 24 000 Fr (around 4 800 €, not tacking into account a 40-years inflation) when it was displayed at the Fnac stores. At the time, I use to dream of having a Macintosh 512K or a Macintosh Plus. I have been using an Atari 1040 STF back in the late 80’s. In the last post, I explained how I jumped into the retro-computing bandwagon, and built a few DIY boxes for retro-gaming via software emulation, based on the RecalBox project.ĭuring the same time, I also explored how to run old computers systems on the current hardware I use day by day, namely an Intel Core 7 quad core MacBook Pro. In fact, Pro Tools will even allow you to lengthen, shorten and add fades to your regions without even having to select each region. A simple few clicks and you can transform your ‘not quite perfect’ drum takes into professional sounding, locked in beats. WorkflowĪside from being just recording software, think of Pro Tools as a way to edit your tracks during and after the recording process, which is where the selling point really lies.Īre your drums not quite synchronizing with the click track? Hit CMD+8 on Mac (or CTRL+8 on PC) and bring up Beat Detective. Like anything, you get out what you put in and with a little bit of effort you’ll soon be using keyboard shortcuts which will save you clicking in menus constantly and certain shortcuts will become second nature. Once you get a better understanding of the screen layout then it is worth reading up on shortcuts and functions within Pro Tools that will speed up your workflow. It can be a little confusing at first when creating bus or auxiliary tracks as Pro Tools won’t immediately link your signal path so spend some time getting to understand how these work and why you would use them. You can quickly tab between the record and mix window where you’ll see your tracks laid out clearly, and you can insert plugins in either of these windows. You have your basic play, record, stop functions, a tracklist and your regions clearly displayed. It’s not the prettiest interface, but it is efficient in its layout. Depending on the genre you write, you may find this selection quite limiting though. If you decide to opt for a paid-for version of Pro Tools you’ll also get access to a good selection of software instruments, such as the AIR Mini Grand Piano, and over 2GB of loops and samples which are sufficient for starting ideas and building tracks. Upgrading your Pro Tools package gives you a bigger selection of plugins (such as chorus, phaser and more) but this isn’t a necessity if you’re just starting out. You’ll also get a D-Verb and Mod Delay included with each package which gives you the basics to begin creating great mixes. It’ll also give you an idea of how these types of plugins work and how they affect your mix. There are arguably better plugins on the market, but these plugins have gotten some of the best producers by for decades. The great news is regardless of whether you opt for the free ‘Pro Tools First’ or the full software you will be able to use Pro Tool’s own EQ, Compressor, Limiter and Gate. While Pro Tools is one of the pricier DAWs, once you purchase it you will also receive a selection of plugins which are of industry standard quality. manually linking your signal chain, creates a steep learning curve that actually becomes really rewarding as you learn the program’s intricacies and functions which once mastered are often translatable to other DAWs. Frustrating at first but processes like this, i.e. Something that is quite easily achieved in Logic/Ableton, like creating a send, can be quite daunting in Pro Tools. It is widely argued that Pro Tools is not the most user-friendly DAW out there. Like any musical craft, Pro Tools takes time to learn, inevitably you will end up having to read through manuals and probably consult google for your answers, but isn’t that part of the fun after all? Pro Tools is arguably the ‘go-to’ DAW of choice for many professionals out there, but is it really all it’s hyped up to be? Ease Of Use/Learning CurveĪs a beginner opening up a Pro Tools session it can be difficult to know where to start. Have a conversation with any music producer and at some point, you are almost guaranteed to hear the words ‘Pro Tools name, and if they’ve ever recorded in a professional studio, they have more than likely used it. Breaking It Down: Pro Tools vs Ableton Pro Tools *Ableton Live has announced that multi-track comping will (finally) be available in Live 11. Many would argue that Ableton Live’s MIDI functionality is sleeker compared to Pro Tools. Both DAWs come with an excellent array of plugins, though Pro Tools‘ collection has been revered as the gold standard for many. Ableton Live excels as a creative suite for electronic and digital realm producers, with intuitive ‘live’ performance features that Pro Tools does not offer. Pro Tools excels at workflow options for those of you who predominantly work with bands and need to work with large amounts of live multitracking comping.
When you trust in your ability and vision, you are not as scared to take chances. I am not scared to have zero dollars in my bank account because I have been there before. “I risk it all when the ideas come to me because I believe in what I am trying to create,” Harris-Dupart said. Dupart also makes money from selling copies of her book When The Miracle Drops. After enjoying success of her client-based, Harris-Dupart set her sights on another aspect, products. “I sat long enough to come up with another plan, and then I felt the need to finally move.” Harris-Dupart explained that through the support of her community, she was able to move to another fully furnished salon, most of which was donated by her supporters.įrom there, word continued to quickly spread about the salon opening and she was fully back in business. Despite the helplessness she felt, her firm belief in God kept her steadfast. “I had to be still,” she said, explaining that although she had insurance, she couldn’t clean up the damage to the salon while an open investigation was underway. “That same year, everything burned, literally.” About six months later, one of Harris-Dupart’s stylists mistakenly sparked a fire started by a faulty piece curling iron and caused what would’ve been irreparable damage-but again, Harris-Dupart trusted the process. She poured thousands into launching the upscale salon in the summer of 2014 and felt her dreams were being realized-until a nightmare struck. “I was scared as ever, but I didn’t give myself the option to fail,” she told ESSENCE. Despite being a risky undertaking, the single mother leaned on faith. Quickly gaining popularity, her clientele grew to the point of needing a salon, leading Harris-Dupart to invest her savings in launching Kaleidoscope Hair Studio. Growing up, she had big dreams and embarked on an entrepreneurial journey as a home-based stylist as a teen. The NOLA native learned early on that keeping promises is key, especially those you make to yourself. Jesseca Faye Harris-Dupart has always bet on herself. If you are comparing two items and one has a better main stat with weaker secondary effects and the second has better secondary effects with a weaker main stat, it is best to go with the higher main stat almost 90% of the time. Mythic items have 3 secondary slots, Legendary 2, Rares and Event items 1 and Commons have none. If these are the same item then count yourself lucky. There is currently have no way of re-rolling effects or upgrading currently owned equipment so for the time being it is recommended to keep both the item with the best primary stat and the item with the best secondary effects. Secondary Effects With 2.7 we got secondary effects on items.Equipment bought from the shop is always at the best possible level for your MS, its values are including all artifact bonuses, and even drops won’t typically drop that high. (Note: x10 over your current equipment is still pretty average). It is not recommended to buy equipment from the shop unless you are at the current MS (Max Stage) cap as that is where you will get the best level for your diamonds, and even that said, equipment should only be bought if it completes a set or is part of a set, you have diamonds to spare or the equipment is substantially stronger than your current piece. Shop Equipment is one of the most random, luck based parts of the game.Clicking it will give you a random equipment, the level of which is determined by your Max Stage. A mini beam of light over the equipment will show you where it is at. Equipment that is dropped by bosses is flung from them and will drop down the the right side of your Sword Master. They’ll drop from random bosses between 80% and 99% of your Max Stage. There are a max of 5 equipment drops obtainable per prestige (lower with lower MS), with 20 farmed equipment daily as a max. To have you get more equipment, you can get some by farming them during your runs. They will have blue hp bars if they will drop equipment1. However, it only drops the first time you beat those bosses. Equipment drops as soon as you beat the stage 15 boss, then every 20 stages after. The equipment will scale according to your Max Stage you have reached. Not only does it change the look of your character, but you also receive bonuses for various damage sources based on what type they are. This only matters for the first weapon obtained for each hero, so complete that first full set asap.Įquipment takes up a major role in TT2. That’s one less click you have to do when leveling up a hero. Having the weapon for a hero makes their abilities that you obtain at certain levels free and also makes them auto obtained when the hero passes that level.Once again, collect your dailies, try your hardest in tournaments and buy the odd one from the shop. (With the exception of Fortune weapons which gives you a weapon you haven’t got yet or if you have them all, a weapon you have the least of). Once again you must pray to RNGesus as weapons received are random. Each full set you complete adds a strong compounding bonus and so completing sets is very important. Weapons and weapon sets, like pets, are earned over time from tournaments, daily rewards, bought from the shop and opened in chests.Heroes do not get attacked and thus will not die. Most of the skills are worth getting, but some are better than others. They can give gold multipliers, damage multipliers, extra Chesterson and Critical Chance, and damage for a particular hero type. All the heroes’ skills affect you globally. However, you will want to level all the heroes regardless of their type as they will have certain skills. You’ll usually just use the stuff that’s optimal for the hero just before your final hero, and later your final hero, when hero cost gets more spaced out. There are many multipliers to a single type of heroes’ damage. There are Melee, Spell, and Ranged heroes and area types, Flying and Ground. every 30 levels, then 40, etc.) Heroes have attack types. They keep getting these multipliers as long as you level them, but the multipliers are spaced out more the higher you go (eg. Heroes scale similarly to the Sword Master, instead of having skills that increase their own damage, they get damage multipliers at first every 20 levels starting from 10. You can hire heroes that will attack automatically. There are ways to increase mana regeneration namely a pet (Fluffers), the Sorcerer skill tree (Limit Break), Hero abilities and an artifact (Mystic Staff). New players begin at a rate of 2 mana a minute. When you use a skill, the amount of mana that is reduced in indicated by the number near the skill.
